moving translations between templates

Hi folks,

I'm trying to set up a new template for the 2006 release of SchoolTool.

First off, I tried to upload a new .pot last night to

https://launchpad.net/products/schooltool/2006/+translations-upload

Which seemed to work, but it hasn't shown up yet.  I'm not sure
whether it is still pending or what.

Beyond that, probably 75% of the strings in the new template are also
in the existing "main" branch:

https://launchpad.net/products/schooltool/main/+pots/schooltool

Is there something I can do to reuse the relevant strings?  Will they
show up automagically?
