Install Ubuntu Xenial Xerus 16.04; then `apt update` followed by `apt
install snapcraft`. You should be getting the 2.x versions of snapcraft.
I also recommend signing up to snapcraft-announce at lists.snapcraft.io[1]
to get updates on snapcraft releases (among other announcements). If you
