Use of ppp interface in Strict Mode

Hi,
 I am seeking advice regarding the use pf the ppp interface a provided by
core Version 16.04.1 (Rev 888).

If I connect my snap using the ppp interface, what does this give me
permission to do? Can I invoke a ppp daemon from inside my snap? Do I have
write access to an area for config files.

If there are any examples, I would appreciate it.
