Wrong - well, slightly wrong - I am also avoiding the "GNU/Linux vs. Linux"
debates, by using both terms. I'm aware that Linux, strictly speaking, is
the kernel.
I'm also aware that there is a lot of BSD in there that the "GNU/Linux"
designation conveniently ignores ;-)
No intention to resurrect any flamewars, though. The terminology in itself
is not, in my view, an issue. I just feel it is important to identify
Ubuntu as part of the "movement", independent of kernel type where
relevant.
Of course, Nexenta seems to be kind of "Ubuntu/Solaris" from
what I read... Perhaps before we die, we might even see a usable
"Ubuntu/HURD".... ;-)
*Cough* I don't advise people to hold their collective breath on the last
one.
