How much karma should one have before applying to becoming a member.

Membership isn't about M-M-M-Monster Karma.  Its about contributions.

There's a lot of work outside the Launchpad infrastructure that says
``contributions'' a lot more than what LP's current karma scheme can,
e.g. community documentation, LoCoTeam work, artwork, etc.
