Greetings again,I realized I forgot to site the live CD directions I was folloing.  They're the ones found at http://live.gnome.org/Orca/UbuntuFeisty (They don't have "Gutsy" specific instructions yet).  According to the information on this page, pressing F5 when the computer boots with the CD in the drive provides a screen with the following options:
(0) None (1) High Contrast (2) Magnifier (3) Screen Reader (4) Keyboard Modifiers (5) On Screen Keyboard 
I am glad to know that the instal process works well.  At this point, I like the live CD, because it allows me to test Ubuntu and orca without irreparably damaging my machine.  Someday I hope to get comfortable enough with the system to take the next step and perform a permanent instalation.
