Lucid update broke accessibility

I'm seeing this behavior in Vinux 3.0 alpha 3, based on the latest
Lucid alpha. I upgraded this morning and the login window stopped
speaking. To fix it, run the attached script.

I'm also not hearing any menus being read in Orca, and the application
switcher is also not talking. This is true for both metacity and
compiz.

I think this just jumped to the highest priority accessibility bug
spot in Lucid! Anyone have any ideas what's going on? Shall I file a
bug report on bugs.launchpad.net?
