you had to do the same to download Netscape: prove that you were in
the US/Canada to get the "high" encryption version; if you didn't  you
would get the lower-level international version.

Ah the good old days;  I spent a lot of time writing code (mostly
games for BBS)  in Turbo Pascal.  All of them saved to floppies, all
of them lost a long time ago...
