Putting in at Hartley Bay and paddling down to the lake and back.

We're doing 4 nights with my family (wife and three kids) and nephew.
I've never done the French before and two of my kids and wife have never
tripped before.

I've been warned about those head winds. I hope we can push through
them. I'm hoping also, we can find a somewhat protected site on the lake
for 2 of those 4 nights.

Our route only has two portages and not much paddling each day so
hopefully it will be a good intro for the newbees in our group.

It took me a while to figure out how to do it though. It's not crown
land any more so you need a camping permit, but ontarioparks does not
take reservations, so you pay for the privilege (at Hartley bay marina
apparently) but ya takes' yer chances on getting a camp site.

<sigh> Your money really ain't for nothin'

I'll let you know how it goes.

cheers,
darryl.
