Wellllll, I expect it probably calls libdvdcss. What I found interesting 
is that I did this because the DVD I bought was crapping out at the same 
spot every time. I ran the DVD through k3b and it fixed it. on the same 
machine the ISO will work the original DVD will not. Go figure.
