Two command-line methods for finding files are 'find' and 'locate'.
With 'locate', you need to make sure your locate 'database' is
up-to-date, then use 'locate' to list instances of a search keyword.
For example:
sudo updatedb
updates the database, then
locate vmware | grep -i uninstall |less
With 'find' you are brute force searching, so something like this should
work:
sudo find / -iname "vmware*" | grep -i uninstall | less
Good luck :-)
