Worked fine for me.  Some configuration errors can cause the postfix
process(es) to not start.  What log files are you checking?  Also are
you using the standard repositories?  Did your install give you any
trouble?  I assume you are using sudo to start postfix.  Are you trying
to run postfix in a chroot jail?
