What are the download speeds like out there?

Hi All,

Sorry I haven't yet read all of the messages leading up to this reply, but I was able to download and successfully upgrade to Gutsy and did so on Thursday when it was released and I had no download speed issues.  Here's what I did:

I went into System/Administration/Software Sources.  I clicked on the "Download From" dropdown and chose "Other...".  A dialog opened with all of the possible source locations displayed.  There is a button located on this dialog "Select Best Server".  I hit this button.  It then proceeded to check every available server, for access speeds.  at the end of it, it chose one for me that it determined was going to be the fastest one for me to download from.  It turned out it wasn't one from "Canada" but I was getting over 800K/bps download speed.  

So my suggestion for everyone to try, before they start the upgrade to Gutsy is to go into this dialog box and choose a different software source.  It makes an incredible difference.
