  I don't think that fdns.net expires things very often.
  You can set the IP once you have an account with a wget/curl
statement.

  As for fee-free registrations of domains. I've suggested that 
foo.city.province.ca, (i.e. 'sandelman.ottawa.on.ca') should be done
for essentially free.  Perhaps something like $10/10years.
  If you agree, you might nominate me for the CIRA board (again).
