Problems with Kubuntu 8.10 Beta install

I ran into similar problems with earlier version of Xubuntu, had hangups 
etc., so I deleted all of the previous installation, and started all 
over. This happened not just with one version of the OS. but after 
redoing the installation everything seemed to work fine.... I hope that 
this helps in some way.
