kdubuntu upgrade, kde3 -> kde4, yuk

I found this, interesting:

https://wiki.kubuntu.org/KubuntuIntrepidVersion

and this:

https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/KDE3-KDE4Migration

I'm not a KDE user so I can't say how drastically different KDE 3 is
from KDE 4 but from
the sounds of it and from what I've read online, it seems that KDE 3
is largely obsolete.

If there's no active development of KDE 3 then at some point, if
you're going to stay with
KDE, you might have to upgrade. Won't matter if you're in clean debian
or some version
of Kubuntu. Perhaps the best bet right now might be to stick with
Hardy and forget about
upgrading to Intrepid. In one of those sites they mention that
Intrepid is supposedly
"cutting edge" and that staying with 8.04 is the best choice for those
already comfortable
with KDE 3.
