I will forgo upgrading my hardy machines, until kde4 comes out with a kde3 compatibility mode or intrepid adopts kde3. If neither of these happen during the intrepid release will drop kubuntu and adopt readopt debian.
I don't really care what kubuntu does, because I am perfectly happy to use debian, if ubuntu does not provided compatibility.
Software/Computers are cheap. It is the training that is expensive.

As far as I know you can't mix repositories from Hardy and Intrepid which
means
that your only option to get back to KDE 3 might be to compile it yourself.
I doubt that any repository for Intrepid will backport KDE 3 so I
doubt that it will
ever become available.
