Lost my 1024x768 screen resolution

I had that problem too. Do you have an NVIDIA card? I solved it by
downloading a handy little program that sets up the NVIDIA drivers properly.
Unfortunately I'm using a ship's library computer in the middle of the
Atlantic just now and can't remember the name of it. I recorded my success
on the Ubuntu forum, though. My username there is LeslieL - you can search
my (very few) recent messages there for more.

I think the problem may be fixed in 8.10.
