the one thing to remember here is that Feisty Fawn (7.04) is currently
not receiving any security updates since Oct 2008.  So that's a
personal risk you have to factor in if you decide to stick to older
versions of Ubuntu.   That's particularly  important if it is your
desktop computer, and you rely on Ubuntu to provide you version of
apps like Firefox, Thunderbird, Flash, etc.  At this point these apps
are most probably vulnerable to security problems floating out there
on the internet.

While I really don't think it is always the best for every users to
always go to the latest version of Ubuntu at the moment it is
released, the best-case scenario for some users is to try to stick to
at least the LTS versions (so Dapper 6.06 and Hardy 8.04);  then you
know you can get at least 3 years of support and be able to stay put
in a relatively stable environment for that length of time.
