wandering wifi options

I am looking at the possibility of using one of the mobile networks
(Rogers, Bell or Telus) for access wherever my work/travels will take
me. I'll be using primarily an Acer Aspire One that currently runs XP,
but will soon be a dual boot with Ubuntu Netbook Remix. The areas I
will likely be working from are Ottawa (where I am based this
summer), Toronto, very likely Calgary and Edmonton, perhaps Regina and
Moose Jaw as well.

I just moved into an apartment in central Ottawa, which has no
internet service at the moment, and I am not sure how long I will be
there, or even in the city, so an account fixed to one location is not
really a practical option.

I'd appreciate relevant suggestions or information about experiences
with the services, on record here or to me confidentially. Has anyone
used these services with Ubuntu or another GNU/Linux distro?

Ralph
