a fix for remix?

I had the same problem.

This fix is buried in this thread:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/desktop-switcher/+bug/349519

Basically you have to install this replacement desktop switcher program:
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26020903/desktop-switcher_0.4.6_i386.deb

And switch back and forth a few times. All should be well after that.
