Firewalls and virus scaners?

52 Viruses and Malware???!? Damn. you have to be more careful.

If you are careful to only install programs from the distro repositories
then this should not be a viable attack vector for malware.

If you do not have WINE installed, then any email viruses wont be able
to run. I have yet to see an email virus that can run on a linux box
without WINE.

You're right Linux is not bulletproof, but with a bit of care (far less
then what would be needed in windows) you can keep it secure without any
AV programs.

I am curious. Just what AV software have you found that actually
protects against Linux targeted viruses and malware?

cheers,
darryl
