Well, Alfred sounds interesting, I'm interested in Ayurvedic health
perspectives and the Aramaic language... but am I to understand that this
list is for Canadians only ?
Is anyone else having issues with Thunderbird upgrading to 3x series ? I had
set up Ubuntu 9.10 for a family member and Thunderbird was going great, then
an upgrade messed it all up. I tried to transfer over the email directory
over to a fresh Ubuntu 10.04 Thunderbird setup (after backing up the
original fresh install files), and no go. This type of restore works when
using the same version, at least in the Thunderbird 2x series. I had to
spend a lot of time trying to get the old email to function on the new
setup, and posted an article on downgrading at my web site (see below).
There's a lot of discussion on this list about advocating Linux and trying
to get people to try using it, but seriously, if Canonical's updates are
going to break things, doesn't that mean that these same people that are
advocating Linux should be ready to provide technical support? I could just
have easily set up the computer in discussion with Fedora, CentOS, or
PC-BSD. Don't get me wrong, I'm very fond of Ubuntu, but when it comes to
having a busy family life and being tech support for the family, I really
need an operating system be reliable. Does this sort of thing happen with
CentOS ?
regards,
Daniel
