WINE

I use WINE extensively, especially for graphics apps like Terragen which
don't have a Linux equivalent or have one that is not as feature rich.
My experience is that as long as you are willing to visit dll-files.com
or like site for the odd missing DLL (esp VB6 ones) WINE works well. In
fact both Terragen and Photoshop perform better on my 10.04 box under
WINE than on the Windoze machines here. Each has minor quirks -
Photoshop won't start 'Saving for Web' until you move the mouse across
the screen for some reason - but in general are pretty solid. What I
found invaluable were the reviews and comments on winehq.com, especially
the DLL tweaks and workarounds.

MSOffice works fine under WINE, except for Outlook in my experience, but
with OO3, Evolution and Kexi why would you bother loading it? Also OO3
is the closest to 100% MSOffice compatibility that I have seen so far.
