ctrl key not working

Three things I can think of: 'Locate pointer by pressing control button' is
selected in 'Mouse Settings'. Window movement key is set to control key in
'Windows Settings'. Or it's a hardware problem, does the other control key
work?  If none of these are your problem my apologies in advance as this is
all I can think of.
