BTW, (if this has not happened already) somebody might want to apply the
patch in #281780 and upload a new 'java-package' package (method 2 in
the above wiki page), in order to circumvent this annoying step
described in the wiki:

1.5 release version.
I talked to one of the Debian Java guys, but he looked pretty
indifferent to it. Seeing they are mostly concerned about getting a Free
Java implementation going I wouldn't count on java-package getting fixed
in Debian in the near future.
Not having to patch java-package would go a long way in making it easier
for users to install the latest Sun Java.
