scribus wants PostScript fonts, that are installed, but obviously not found or ignored

No, it wasn't. I fixed that, but it didn't help.

That didn't help, too and IMHO it would have been very strange.

There's another Warty machine running in my network with no problems
starting scribus ... I'll check dpkg --get-selections on both
machines and make a diff.
