Beta release status

A workaround was applied to the livefs build script (don't ask) and I've
confirmed it in the current Ubuntu desktop build (20060928.2).  So I am no
longer aware of any blockers.

We're in the process of spinning a new set of images with the latest
livefses, which shouldn't take very long.  The following should be
considered candidates:

Ubuntu desktop: 20060928.2
Ubuntu alternate: 20060928
Kubuntu desktop: 20060928.1
Kubuntu alternate: 20060928
Edubuntu install: 20060928 (needs confirmation of the fix for #62690)
Edubuntu live: 20060928.1
