Thank you for your reading of my plea for help, the quotes I use come from
disc2 of the two disc set for Kubuntu_6_10_i386 doc -> install -> manual
-> en -> ch01.html ->
My submission was, I have been advised, to a members list of which I am not
a member so it may never appear on that list
Lured from Tertiary education in England by the uniforms of WW2 I can
assure you that it is who's inside not the uniform that attracts the girls

Do the people studying Dentistry, Medicine, Political Science, Accountancy
etc. also install their own operating systems ? The students themselves,
not their department's 'computer guy', an affirmative answer adds more
people to those requiring the information I seek

Much is written about the lack of experienced installation and service people
holding back the progress of Linux onto the desktop - nobody wants to
employ people who are learning, they all want experienced operators

Running your own home network and sharing your expertise, for free or
otherwise, increases not only your experience but also the number of people
who are accustomed to using Linux, eventually easing the load on workplace
Administrators

Conversely, everybody using a computer at their workplace has a home and most
of those will be home to more than one person

Once again thanks,

Stan Hutchinson
