Dear friends,

Thanks to Bartek from Belgium I found this mailing list and this is my
first mail to it.

Being the organiser of an Ubuntu release party in the Netherlands on 27
Oktober this year, my heart begins the beat faster when I think of all
the things that can go wrong.

I simply cannot predict the amount of people that might come to the
party. Nobody can of course, but if you did this thing before, can you
give me some idea about what to expect.

About 60 people that already use Ubuntu have put themselves on the wiki
page. That makes about 80 including their partners etc.
We spread 2500 flyers over the nation, hung up 150 posters all around
and every day there is a message on the dutch forum.
The dutch media has been send messages about the event, we have many
sponsors, the local and country-wide papers will have articles about the
party and we will advertise in a free paper the week before the party.
We have 6 speakers, a famous dutch man, a member of parliament, a member
of the Amsterdam city-council, a linux-writer, an open-source writer and
of course our teamleader who will tell the dutch about the birth of
Gutsy.

Please help me calculate, so my nights will be used for sleeping again
instead of worrying ;-)

Sincerely,

Willem Hellinga
