Have you ever read that disclaimer fully? It makes the mail to be a
confidential property of the company and they send such mail to a public
mailing list of an Open Source project? The disclaimer is not just
irritating but much unethical and legally incorrect. The disclaimers
mean that the mails, thereby the mail account, should be used for
confidential and official communication purposes only. Generally, in any
of the other public mailing list I know of, including a lot of open
source project's mailing lists, such a mail will result in the sender
getting unsubscribed from the list and even banned. The list is open,
but for people who follow the ethics.
The original mail was sent as a reminder to the list members, and those
who wish to join the list, that using such official mail account for
this list is BAD and is not welcomed.
