Hi
Am running Ubuntu 8.04 , with thunderbird 2.0.0.17.
For the last year and a half my thunderbird as totally frustrated me -
it downloads messages (from gmail) only intermittently - as a result my
most recent message - is from about August 2007.
I send mails from Thunderbird , because it makes for better / easier
referencing when off line.
Earlier i thought that the problem was any of the following
1. Slow Internet connection -
2. Uncompacted folders
3. Old version of Thunderbird
however have rectified all of these, which includes access to broadband,
and am still stuck.
So now am thinking what else could be the problem.
Could it be any of these
1. The amount of space my thunderbird takes is about 2.2 GB
2. There are multiple email accounts within thunderbird
3. I have my thunderbird data in a folder thats not the default .Mozilla
folder (it makes it easier to back up)
-
i will try and rectify 2 and 3 (and rectifying 2 should improve 1 as well)
am thinking of migrating to evolution (even tried that - when on a slow
connection and just disliked the evolution interface)
but any other ideas
thanks
ram
