This is a good suggestions, but I think gnome-rdp has served it's
purpose. I think the people doing remmina are building a better app with
more modern API's than were available when gnome-rdp was written. I'm
not actively developing features for it at this point.

Title:
add feature: open gnome-rdp session via command line

Status in “gnome-rdp” package in Ubuntu:
  Opinion

Bug description:
gnome-rdp should have a way to open a named connection via the command line (like remmina -c file.remmina does, etc.).
This will allow adding shortcuts to command scripts, the Ubuntu start menu, keyboard hot keys, etc.

I.e. if I have a rdp connection named "MyLaptop" then I should be able
  to run

  gnome-rdp --connect MyLaptop

  or something similar.
