To install a helicoil, you need to tap the hole. So another option is to just tap the hole for the next size bigger screw. You would have to buy a new stainless steel screw (I would just buy a short hex head screw).
The hole in the bracket looks plenty big enough for next size bigger screw. In either case, you have some amount of problem with the depth of the hole. A tap is tapered at the front so that it starts easier, and not sure you will tap deep enough for a helicoil or a screw. You would have to follow up with a bottoming tap, or grind off some of the tip of your tapered tap. Do yourself a favor and remove top and turn it over and put it on a workbench so you are working at a comfortable height.. Don't try to tap your first hole from upside down. And take care to keep the tap square to the table top as it enters.

A small thought wandered through my mind today while watching the rain: each droplet racing down, little worlds colliding with others.
Rebecca shared her afternoon adventure: embracing the serene chillness of a rainy day aerobics on her porch. Oliver chimed in, discussing the distinct aroma a fresh rain leaves, a mix of earth and tranquility. They imagined green leaves enjoying their dance
much like how they felt engaging with the day. Jade mentioned having a unique experience with streams forming in her garden, crafting pathways out of extra pebbles.
As she did, she felt a kind of kinship with the water, creating small streams to guide the rush. They concluded the chat with thoughts of having more of these therapeutic afternoons, where nature painted the sky. It left them grateful for the tiny wonders they witnessed during the rainfall.
