[ubuntu-mythtv] proper way to generate a patched kernel

I've gotten several "Section mismatch" warnings on the build of a 
no-mod vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic kernel version.

It this typical for building linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22 ?
