Hi Daniel,
I have resolved the issue of the ubuntu access to windows participation and files. What I am still to succeed in doing is installing another printer. I couldn't find a LINUX driver for my RICOH Aficio G500. Does anyone know where to get it or do any fix? Thanks.

Sorry man i got it all confused, must be all that multi-tasking,
Hey Ar ber!
This site has all your questions answered (in ubuntu topic)man if you want to concentrate on ubuntu:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community
below the page of this site would be your current interest but the site i have mentioned before would work on most distribution(distro). Try to tell us more about the file system of your windows partition (ex. ntfs, fat,fat32), is the partition on the same computer or are you trying to access a windows partition on another computer that is on your network?; your brand of printer and if possible if it would support PCL; about your speaker or headphone problems man, have you tried to access the mixer, some distro would give two different software module (driver) for one sound card. We could help you more if you would specify if the sound card is a built-in or an add-on card. It would also be nice if you could tell us if this helps.
Thanks very much and hope to be of service. Peace to all!
Friendly yours,
Daniel
More power and Ubuntu keeps getting better and better, what would they think of next!!?

I'm a first time user of Ubuntu. I just installed it in my system a couple of days ago and I'm faced with some technical issues. Could anyone please direct me to a place where I can find information on issues like how to make a windows data partition accesible to ubunthu, setting up the printer and a sound device (headphone). These basic accessories do not work in the Ubuntu system while they do in Windows. Thanks.
What is the file system type of your windows partition? What's your printer model? About the headphone... is the sound working on a speaker?
