Sirs/Madams;
We're currently working on the a layout[1] for ubuntu-ph.org and as per my
conversation with Zak, we'll first host it somewhere, fondly called Beta
Site, for testing and approval before we implement it. This is to prevent
disruption on the main site.
Aaron Mangoroban (mangz on IRC) has been kind enough to host it on his
server[2] and provide technical expertise. We will provide the link once we
(the community) agrees on the final layout. And while we're waiting for your
suggestions, we'll start working with the template.
Here's our proposal and please don't hesitate to comment on it since it is,
after all, a community effort.
a. Home links to the homepage (duh!) so users browsing other pages can easily
get back to the main page.
b. Wiki, Planet, and Howto links to their respective page/site
c. Headers contains 3 tables consisting of What is Ubuntu, Get Ubuntu, and
Related Projects.
d. What is Ubuntu links to http://www.ubuntu.com/products/WhatIsUbuntu
e. Get Ubuntu links to a page containing the Releases page [3], Ubuntu Feisty
[4], Kubuntu Feisty [5], Edubuntu Feisty [6], Xubuntu Feisty [7], and to the
CDImage site [8]. This page should also contain instruction on how to burn an
ISO (or probably link it to BurningISO wiki) and what .torrent & .jigdo is
for.
f. The Related Projects links to Ubuntu.com, Kubuntu.org, Edubuntu.org, and
Xubuntu.org.
g. The "Mabuhay! Ito and opisyal na website ng Ubuntu Pilipinas!" sticky
should remain as is. Or maybe we could edit the content.
h. Everything else can be left as is.
i. Add a Projects page to document everything that Ubuntu-PH has done in the
past and plans in the future.
j. Empower active members by assigning them as publishers and editors.
Please, again, don't hesitate to add, comment, or suggest anything.
