Ken,
You need to run a DNS server that you can control somewhere. I have no idea
if your router can run one or if it is controllable by you. I think that
most basic routers just either forward DNS requests if they answer them at
all. You'll probably need to run one on a Linux box on your network and
configure it with all of your static IPs as well as the ability to forward
external requests to the outside world. BIND is the most popular DNS server,
but there are others. Unfortunately I don't know of any that are real easy
to configure. It'll take a real time investment to learn how to use it. As
far as forwarding external requests you can use your router if that works or
figure out the DNS servers for your ISP, but I'd recommend pointing to
OpenDNS. http://www.opendns.org
I'm not sure how much help that is, but hopefully I've pointed you in a
direction that you can investigate.
