[CoLoCo] Please respond directly to Jim - Re: Hardy Party RSVPMegaMail

Good idea! We should develop and use that for future 'events' though.

If you are attending please either fill out the Wiki page at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ColoradoTeam/HardyReleaseParty

or e-mail Siblog to fill it out for you (if you cant/don't know how).

Cheers,

- Mitch

RSVPMegaMail

We really should hack together a quick and easy web-form to implement into
our website so that users can RSVP by entering their name, email address,
and that they are attending. We could just throw it to a big page. And
that's a heck of a lot easier than using a wiki for most people. I know
wiki pages are ideal (hell, I think they are the greatest thing to ever
happen to online communities and development groups, absolutely ideal for
collaboration), but they can have a bit of a learning curve.

If Nick sets up a quick and easy mysql database for me I can throw together
a simple php script to update the database and view the current list of
attendees.

I would prefer we keep the page that Mitch setup updated with all attendees
if at all possible. You can also or alternatively send an email directly to
me and I will keep track of attendees.

Regardless I booked the room for 40+ so lets try to round up as many people
as possible. Please drag along significant others, friends, kids,
co-workers, etc. The bigger the crowd the better we look. I also remember
that there was a lot of enthusiasm earlier on and now I have not seen much,
so I hope to hear from some more members soon ;-)

So I hope Jim is willing to summarize results, and that people are
willing to respond directly to Jim with their plans, rather than
writing to the whole list.

Was mainly thinking of Siblog as he is the one making the reservation.

Alternatively, it would seem even better to make a wiki page to
represent the attendance, so anyone can sign up, modify and/or check
any time.

Already done (was mentioned in the previous thread). Thanks Mitch.

And for the email list challenged, you can get a free ubuntu-rocks email
address (I think Joey is still setting these up but not sure). It's gmail
and works great at keeping threads in ONE message no matter how many
replies. You can set up all your Ubuntu or whatever mail to go to this
address and ignore it when you want to and not have it fill up your regular
inbox. The digest would be another option.
