FWIW, my system seems to have an Etron EJ168:

I haven't yet had occasion to put it through its paces, but will
probably go with USB 3.0 for my next external hard drive. (I've been
using eSATA, but have found that hotplugging won't work, as drives don't
actually show up until I reboot. That may stem from connecting them
through trivial adapters that use motherboard connections primarily
intended for internal drives, though.)
