[NYLoCo] Possible NYC Gathering for Jaunty.

Well, as I've said, I've been involved with many false-starts over the
past few years, so energy levels notwithstanding, the follow-through
is usually the issue.
With regards to #2, it takes more than one I think, it would take a
few proactive folk, though I still think the virtual LUG is a good
starting point. The real issue is location right now, because while I
am centric to myself, I will of course be looking locally to ...
myself, which is in Brooklyn NY. So a consensus will be required for a
location (or perhaps it'll be the whoever-gets-a-venue-first model).
With a Virtual LUG at least to start, we can begin to experience some
synergy and see if it's worth pursuing.
My original notion is, I've never owned an Ubuntu CD, I have .ISO's
(environmentally friendly) ... I don't buy very many Linux books, I
read almost all materials online, and I've done most of my
Linux-learning online and on PC's of course, so I'm not so sure the
hang-up of having meetings-in-person thing adds anything more than
travel expenses and possible venue costs.
I do wonder why you need NYC to make the LoCo any more offical though,
does upstate NY not count in their eyes?
I can look around my local area for Barnes and Noble or Borders book
locations, but not sure what I'll come up with, I'll see. I had tried
the local college/professor route, that came up negative on my last
attempt (apathy runs rampant in NYC).

They may be an opportunity for a regular meeting place. If that fails you can try the following other ideas:
