I'm no expert but I do have some experience with setting up a modem under
Linux on my TiBook. The soft modem on your ppc is not supported
directly--you can download a driver from Linuxcent.com that may work. If it
works for you after compiling (see the read me file) in order to have full
functionality you'll have to pay a small license fee.
The easiest way is to buy a Belkin usb to serial adapter and almost any
second hand or new serial modem. I use a Zoom V92.
Configure the Zoom modem with Wvdial. After you configure wvdial you can
them use the gui conect app kpp or gpp.
Hope this helps and there is a "How to" on setting up an Apple 'winmode' on
the Yellowdog support pages.
