This is really bad news. I thought that this would be supported as 
surely there are not that many modems on the mac models, I mean this is 
not like any computer but some specific machines so you can concentrate 
on supporting the specific hardware those machines have.

I had same problem with a compaq laptop i had and it was realy anoying 
to solve... I will check the yelow dog website. Fingers crossed as if i 
cannot set this up i will have to stop using ubuntu until i get adsl. 
well maybe i can find some usb modem somewhere but i have having 
hundreds of cables around my laptop.

thanks for the tip! I was really worried that i couldnt make it work.
