Win 2000 won't boot

My Win 2000 hdd, which has many digital photos on it, won't boot. I use
it because I've never been able to get the GIMP to print photos in Red
Hat or Fedora, and not now in Ubuntu. I need; [1] to get into Win 2000,
and [2] to find an app that will use my HP 55550 [a great printer], to
print pictures in Linux. I have no /etc/grub.conf so where do I fix the
booting problem?
