Marillat repos, ubuntuguide &c are all fine - a way to get the stuff
you want and get it running on *your* computer. Automatix and the rest
of that crap are ways which work on some guys computer, and might work
on yours, or not. That won't stop people looking to have their ubuntu
fixed when it all goes pear shaped, and then bitching mightily about
the whole linux thing when it turns out to be be difficult.
