Not true. Marillat debs introduce a bunch of dependency problems in
Ubuntu because they are packaged for Debian (better to use the Penguin
Liberation Front repos). Ubuntuiguide also contained instructions that
could severely hose your system.
Therefore, they really are all examples the same fundamental problem the
GP described.
