upgrade thanks

A big thanks to the debian and ubuntu developers

Over the years I have had mixed success with distro upgrades on various boxes

Red Hat 4.1 to 5.0 - failed (installed from scratch)
Red Hat 5.0 to 5.2 - failed (installed from scratch and is still running. I just compile my own critical programs such as sendmail, bind, etc)
Slackware 8 to 9 - sorta worked, just ended up with duplicates everywhere
woody to sid - success
hoary to breezy - success (apart from a temporary Release file problem)

Hmm, looks like a pattern emerging :)
