Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the problem wasn't that simple. It
appears to be related to either the DISPLAY environment variable or the X
authority files.
Stopping my display manager was the first thing I tried, but it was still
bugging. I didn't say this on my first post, but running `X & DISPLAY=:0;
startkde' worked just as well as `startx startkde', so the first display was,
indeed, free for me to use.
Anyway, I guess I now have to find the source for the partition problem.
Currently, the system works like a charm, to my surprise.
