[Dapper] Xgl : doesn't use H/W rendering ?

Hi,
I can't quite believe it, but this amazing Xgl / Compiz thing kinda
works on my old antic machine.
Only a couple of things maybe someone knows something about :
I don't have any window decoration (need to Alt+mouse to move windows).
When I start compiz, I get this error about it:
compiz.real: Couldn't load plugin 'libgnome-window-decorator.so'
Other issue: playing videos with Totem is very choppy. It appears that
Xgl uses 80% CPU (Totem the remaing 20%), and when I run "glxinfo" it
says that Direct Rendering is NOT enabled.
But I don't know why it isn't, it should I think :
video card is an old on-board (nForce chipset) GeForce2 MX (32MB of
RAM). I installed "nvidia-glx-legacy", I loaded the nvidia driver
in /etc/modules, and replaced nv with nvidia in xorg.conf.
And when I start X, I get the usual full screen "Nvidia" logo before GDM
presents me with the log-in screen. In the past, that used to do it...
not anymore apparently :-(
Regards,
