My opinion is that you should keep windows for now, you're probably most
productive in windows. Try the website editors available in linux, _if_
none of the linux ones do the trick then look at the emulation options.
Remember that those emulators just make it possible to install windows
inside linux. The wine project on the other hand runs windows apps
natively, that mean that the program thinks it's running on windows but
it's actually running on linux. Basic that means it's faster.

but it's getting close.

A separate partition, yes. By being on a separate doesn't make it part
of one OS or another. The OS defines how you access and use your files
and hardware, it can do that across many partitions. Have a look at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fstab for how linux handles partitions.
